Smart meter

Electricity meters with smart measurement of electrical energy are part of the digital energy transition. With our basic meters (modern measuring devices), we are contributing to this and are in line with the specifications of the Forum Netztechnik/Netzbetrieb (Network Technology/Network Operation Forum) and the corresponding FNN specifications.

There are numerous advantages over the old electromechanical meters. These include higher measurement accuracy, enhanced protection against tampering and lower energy consumption.

The modern measuring devices also enable real-time consumption information. They allow energy billing during the year and, in addition to pure electricity consumption, also facilitate statistical evaluations depending on the time of day. As part of the digital energy transition, electricity consumption can be dynamically priced and thus shifted to low-cost off-peak times.

The basic meters from DZG Metering are available in versions compliant with FNN specification version 1.4 in 3Hz and eHz designs.

Important note for end users: The electricity meter is the property of your network operator. Please contact them directly if you have any further questions about your electricity meter and a functional upgrade.

DVSB.G3 / DWSB.G3

Electronic three-phase meter / basic meter MessSystem-2020 in accordance with FNN specifications Basic meter Functional features, version 1.4.1 with integrated wireless MBus interface with Mode 7 encryption and compact profile for TAF7.

The third generation of the DZG basic meter can also be used as an intelligent measuring system (iMSys) with a BSI-compliant smart meter gateway SMGw. The use of a wireless MBus interface with Mode 7 encryption and compact profile enables easy integration of the DVSB.G3. A wired connection according to FNN is also available.

Use as a modern measuring device (mME) is also possible below the installation obligation for iMSys. As a further optimisation compared to Generation 1, the terminal block has been designed with cage clamp terminals.

The basic meters of the DZG are currently available in the direct-measurement version for SLP measurement as type DVSB.G3. The DVSB.G3 is available as an option with additional approval for single-phase operation (L3) in the DWSB.G3 version. All versions of this meter type operate with phase balancing.

Due to the direct connectivity via wireless MBus with Mode 7 encryption and compact profile, the DVSB.G3 and DWSB.G3 do not have a tariff register.

DVSB.G2 / DWSB.G2

Electronic three-phase meter / smart meter Metering System-2020 of the second generation

The DVSB.G2 series of electronic three-phase meters is manufactured in accordance with FNN specifications for smart meters, version 1.4.1. The second generation of the DVSB has been specially optimised for use with a BSI-compliant smart meter gateway as part of an intelligent measuring system (iMSys). It can also be used as a modern measuring device (mME) in areas where the installation of an iMSys is not mandatory. Compared to Generation 1, the terminal block has been further optimised with the addition of cage clamps.

DZG's smart meters are currently available in a direct-measuring version for SLP measurement, designated as the DVSB.G2 type. The DVSB.G2 is also available as DWSB.G2 variant, which has additional approval for single-phase operation (L3). Everything else aligns with the DVSB.G2. All variants of this meter type are phase-balancing.

DVSB / DWSB

Electronic three-phase meter / smart meter Metering System-2020

The first generation of electronic three-phase meters in the DVSB series is manufactured in accordance with FNN smart meter specifications (version 1.4.1). In accordance with the EnWG, these meters can be used as a measuring device alongside a BSI-compliant smart meter gateway to form an intelligent measuring system (iMSys). Alternatively, they can be used individually as a modern measuring device (mME) where the installation of an iMSys is not mandatory.

DZG's smart meters are currently available as the DVSB type for direct measurement of SLP. The DVSB is also available as DWSB variant, which has additional approval for single-phase operation (L3). Everything else aligns with the DVSB. All variants of this meter type are phase-balancing.

The DVSB is optionally available with a double-tariff counter that can be controlled via terminals.

DVZE.G3 / DWZE.G3

Electronic electricity meter / eHz design in accordance with FNN specifications Basic meter Functional features, version 1.4.1, in eHz design with integrated wireless MBus interface with Mode 7 encryption and compact profile for TAF7.

This basic meter is suitable for measuring points with plug-in technology. The use of a wireless MBus interface with Mode 7 encryption and compact profile enables easy connection of the DVZE.G3 to a smart meter gateway SMGw without additional cabling. A wired connection with a suitable OKK according to FNN is also possible.

According to the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG), this meter is used as a measuring device together with a BSI-compliant smart meter gateway as an intelligent measuring system (iMSys) or individually as a modern measuring device (mME) below the installation obligation for iMSys. All variants of this meter type operate with phase balancing. The DVZE.G3 is an AC four-wire meter for direct connection.

The DVZE.G3 is available as an option with additional approval for single-phase operation in the DWZE.G3 variant.

DVZE.G2 / DWZE.G2

Electronic electricity meter/eHz design

The DVZE.G2 series of electronic three-phase meters is manufactured in accordance with FNN specifications for smart meters (version 1.4.1). This smart meter is designed specifically for use in measuring stations with plug-in technology.

According to the German Energy Network Act (EnWG), it can be used as a measuring device in conjunction with a BSI-compliant smart meter gateway to form an intelligent measuring system (iMSys). Alternatively, it can be used individually as a modern measuring device (mME) where the installation of an iMSys is not mandatory. All variants of this meter work with phase balancing.

The DVZE.G2 is a four-wire meter for direct connection to alternating current. The DVZE.G2 is also available as an option with an additional approval for single-phase operation (L3) in the DWZE.G2 variant. Everything else aligns with the DVZE.G2.
